The Green Blue to host free anchoring and mooring webinar

Seagrass underwater

‘Sustainable anchoring & mooring: Protecting our seabed habitats’ on 25 April at 7.30pm.

Join The Green Blue for an environmental best practice webinar on sustainable anchoring and mooring. Kate Fortnam, The Green Blue Campaign Manager, will be joined by representatives from other partners in the EU LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES Project, led by Natural England.

The EU LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES Project is the largest seagrass restoration project in England. Its work is focussed across 5 Special Areas of Conservation in the south of England: Essex Estuaries, Solent Maritime, Plymouth Sound and Estuaries, Fal and Helford, and the Isles of Scilly.

The webinar will provide an insight into the work of the ReMEDIES Project and why it is important to protect and restore seagrass habitats. Attendees will also discover ways in which the recreational boating community can help to safeguard these habitats through sustainable anchoring and the use of Advanced eco-Mooring Systems (AMS). There will also be the opportunity for audience questions at the end of the webinar.

Webinar content

  • An introduction to the LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES Project
