Mike Golding OBE

Patron of The Green Blue

Round the World race winner, multiple world champion, global record breaker. Mike Golding is the first person ever to sail single-handed and non-stop around the world in both directions. He is one of the world’s leading sailors and has now sailed around the world six times, four of which were solo. In 2007 Mike was awarded an OBE by The Queen for his services to sport (sailing). As the current Chair of World Sailing’s Sustainability Commission Mike supports initiatives that improve the sport’s environmental impact and he uses his unique experience and knowledge of the world’s oceans to reach and educate a wide non-sailor audience.

Mike became a key Ambassador for The Green Blue back in 2009 and was one of the original advocates for sustainable boating. Due to his ongoing work in sustainability and his continued support we were delighted to announce Mike as our Patron at the Southampton International Boat Show 2021.
