The Clean Marina Programme, run by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA), helps marinas demonstrate their commitment to doing all they can to ensure their operations do not pollute our coastal and inland waters.
The Programme helps marinas get the basics of sustainability right, such as blackwater capture and treatment, correctly managing segregated and hazardous waste, spill prevention and treatment, washdown capture and filtration, drain interception, using sustainable products and preventing plastic pollution, and of course, influencing tenants, contractors, and boaters to be more sustainable too.
The Clean Marina Programme was launched at the Southampton International Boat Show in 2021. It includes contributions from The Green Blue, British Marine, the Royal Yachting Association, World Sailing, the Final Straw Foundation, and Fauna & Flora International.
