When one of the world’s most luxurious cruise ships is operating in one of the world’s most environmentally sensitive waters on the planet, it is more critically important than ever that no trace of oily water is discharged overboard.
Ultra-luxurious cruise ship, Silver Origin, was designed and built to exceptionally high environmentally-friendly credentials, ensuring that it creates minimal impact during its voyages in the Galapagos Archipelago. In order to ensure the vessel will never discharge any dirty water overboard, it has been fitted with the Wave MiniBOSS system.
Created by Wave International, both a member of British Marine and The Green Blue Business Directory, the Wave MiniBOSS has been designed to ensure that no traces of oil or other pollutants such as microplastics, are discharged overboard thanks to its use of a pre-filter and two Wavestream filters.
The filter technology encased within the Wave MiniBOSS removes all trace of pollutants which remain trapped within the filter cartridge. The systems control panel indicates when the filters require replacing.
Kate Fortnam, Campaign Manager for The Green Blue, said: “It’s great to see members of The Green Blue Business Directory designing innovative products such as the Wave MiniBOSS that show such a strong understanding of the current pressures on our marine environment.”
In addition to cruise ships, the Wave MiniBOSS system is fitted to a wide range of craft including superyachts, military and navy vessels, commercial ships and workboats.
