LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES Project
Since July 2019, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), including The Green Blue and other organisations have partnered with Natural England in a four year EU LIFE funded project known as the LIFE Recreation ReMEDIES Project.
ReMEDIES stands for Reducing and Mitigating Erosion and Disturbance Impacts affEcting the Seabed.
As part of this project the RYA and The Green Blue programme are helping to raise awareness of the importance of protected Seagrass and Maerl seabed habitats and the best practice recreational boating can adopt to help preserve and restore these important habitats. Please visit our Anchoring With Care advise page for guidance on how boat users can avoid or minimise impacts from anchoring when out enjoying the British coastline.
Discover where Maerl (lithothamnion corallioides) beds are located around our UK coastline using the National Biodiversity Network Atlas.
